Weekly Mass

Wednesdays at 9:05 in the Guardian Chapel

The highpoint of each school week comes on Wednesday mornings, with the Celebration of the Eucharist in our Guadian Chapel.  The celebrants are pastors and priests from this area, and throughout the Archdiocese; we have been blessed with great priests who have willingly given of their time to offer this Sacrament consistently to our community each week.  Our liturgical music group offers up music to our Lord during Mass, and our Solidarity teams lead the Masses (the readings,
offertory, Prayers of the Faithful).  Visitors are always welcome;  but visitors must check in with the front office.)

St. Joseph's Chapel

When the school first began, masses were celebrated at St. Joseph's Chapel, just down the street.  We quickly outgrew the chapel, but still celebrate mass there on certain special occassions such as our class retreats. St. Joseph's Chapel is a part of the wonderful story of JPII.  In the 1890's , area German settlers, after having great success with an area school staffed by Sisters of Divine Providence, created their own Catholic school, to serve the children of this area, and built that school just a quarter mile from where our school now stands.  For almost fifty years, St. Joseph's School made a Catholic education possible for the families of Comal, Texas.  In 1904, the Settlers pulled monies together to build the chapel to allow the students to have weekly Mass (Wednesday mornings, in fact), and to provide the community a sacred space for other Masses, funerals, weddings, and baptisms.  Dedicated in 1905, St. Joseph's Chapel has had a special place in this community, and has a special place for the community of JPII.
